Neal Shaffer

Hello, I'm Neal. I'm 19 years old and live in Iowa. I enjoy jokes and food a lot. I really enjoy fencing and soccer and do both of them here at Scattergood. I am an only child but have a few close friends who consider themselves brothers and sisters. I'm really excited to meet other people and immerse myself in Bolivian culture.

This is my fifth time leading a trip to Latin America with Scattergood but my first time going to Bolivia.  I have been close to Bolivia before (in Puno, Peru) and I am very excited to see Emma’s hometown, to work in schools, and to interact with Quakers who will likely be different from the Quakers that I know.  I look forward to learning from these differences.  I also hope to get to know Bolivians through eating and pick-up soccer (my two favorite travel activities).

My name is Annie Caldwell, I am 18 years old and I am from Wisconsin.

This is my first time traveling out of the United States and I am really excited to go to Bolivia and spend time with a host family! I have two older brothers and I hope that my host family becomes just as close. I am interested to learn more about the different environments in Bolivia, and if there are any problems with deforestation or if there are other things hurting the environment. Mostly, I am excited to have a good time and get to know new people.
